New here

Hello everyone, Im a 28 year old male who has had a drinking problem for 7 years.I got my second Dui four weeks ago and it was my third arrest. It was a huge wake up call for me,I know I screwed up and only have myself to blame, I want to stop drinking before I end up hurting myself or worse someone else. Im here just looking for some support as I try to turn my life around.

Hi, and welcome!

Just out of curiosity, what was your reaction to the first two arrests? You didn't mention what the third one was for--but I'm betting it was something that was somehow alcohol-related.

The "wake up call" will only carry you so far. The feeling will fade with time. I suggest you go check out an AA meeting. I'm guessing you will have to attend some kind of meeting anyway as a consequence of the DUI--why not get a jump on the rest of your life, and make this about making your whole life better and not just a consequence imposed on you from the outside?

Yup...sometimes there are those of us who need a little legal intervention as a wake up call. I am so glad that you are seeking support. Hope you are thinking about getting in to a treatment program as that many DUI's indicates you need some focus on you...you are worth it!

It's great to have you here, Thor! SR helped me get sober after drinking for 30 yrs. I know you can do it, too. You'll never have to go through these dark times again.
