Day 5
Checking in. Glad it's Friday, it has been a looong work week for me, but it has been different. There have been no "having just one drink" after work to get over the workday, only to have it turn into 2, 3, 4, 5drinks, then having another on in the morning to shake off the fog of the night before just to get going. And doing this over and over and over, and hating myself for doing it. There has been none of that this whole work week, and I cannot express in words how grateful I am for this. I have mapped out the weekend, so that I am not exposed to anything or anyone that could cause me to "stumble" like I did last weekend. Please keep me in your prayers.

Glad you are on board to stay sober this weekend! They can be challenging but it is comforting to know I am not alone in this challenge. I think it is great to have a plan in place as it sounds like you do.

my story is close to yours. i get off work, unwind with a "one drink" but ending in 2,3,4, then half the bottle. but i have been sober for 14weeks + 1 day. i feel much better in life. so more not remembering what i did last night or how i got to bed. day 5 is great!!!!! keep it up!

That's great that you have plans to stay sober this weekend. You don't have to do it alone. Without help it is too much for us. Get to an AA meeting and say you are new. You will get all of the help you need.

I am on Day 6, just one day ahead of you, and I know the one drink after work thing all too well. This is my first sober weekend too, and I'll be praying for you and you pray for me, okay? I'm sure I'll be on the board a lot, especially in the evening. Hang tight. We can do this!!
