Anyone else get sore muscles easily in early recovery?
After spending my first two and a half sober weeks in bed, on the couch, or in a very near radius to my house, I've been beginning to get back to being somewhat active again. I'm pretty fit and exercise a lot so this week I decided to get back into some gentle activity to get myself going again.
A couple of yoga classes and some very chill bicycling later and I am way more sore than I should be for this amount of exercise, even after taking a couple weeks off! Today I was riding my bike up a very, very gentle hill for about ten minutes and I could actually feel the burn. Normally I go on 20 - 30 mile rides on the weekend and won't feel sore until much later.
Anyone else experience this? I've read a bunch about how when we're drinking frequently the body metabolizes alcohol as energy rather than fat. I'm wondering if maybe this is related to that, but can't seem to find any information.
