7 months today!
7 months today!
Today I am 7 months sober I have just had the toughest month I can remember over the last few years and managed to continue my sobriety and for that I am extremely proud of myself!!
For those of you that have just started your journey, hang in there it gets easier and eventually it will not be a daily struggle, it will always require enormous inner strength but just remember you are completely capable of it, because you are! Being sober has given me my life back, I am in complete control of how I live and the things I do and say. There is absolutely no comparison between my life drinking and my life sober, my life sober is an actual life, we only get one!
xx

Congrats JungleGirl! That is terrific. I totally can relate to what you are saying. I am also over 7 months and my life is so much different now. I'm acutally living, not dying inside! I am so happy with where I am at right now. I never thought I would get to this point as I really struggled in the beginning like everyone else has.
But we get stronger each day that we stay sober. There is a light at the end of the tunnel!
Thanks for sharing!

Way to go !!! The most important part is the way you tackled the tough situations during last month . That was a great achievement because, after few months of being sober, we start expecting that life will be like heaven . But life always poses challenges. The major difference is, our ability to tackle the challenges ,is more profound, once we are sober. You did great by not letting those tough challenges to make you weak.. We take great inspiration from you and thank you very much.

way to go jungle girl! It's sure nice to see so many of us here on SR celebrating your 7 months with you! Boy do I know how you feel about the first year being hard sometimes. I'm happy you made it through stronger than before. I'm sneaking up behind you in a few days,to 7 months and its great to hear others close in time hanging in there. And to anyone alittle newer in recovery just don't drink, don't drug one day or one minute at a time. And it will get easier. I can't think my way into a new way of living, but live my way into a new way thinking...
