Well, it's been one hell of a couple of days...

sunday i get a call from one of my best friends that his roommate, also one of my best friends, was dead. my friend found him not breathing in the morning. 34 years old. not 100% sure on cause of death, but I'm pretty certain drugs and alcohol were a contributing factor, if not the direct cause. so yesterday i hung out with my friend and convinced him not to drink, because it was his 30 day of sobriety (he's doing AA even though I'm not and picked up his chip to try and not drink). anyway, my take from this isn't a desire to drink at all but just reaffirms my commitment not to.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Heartbreaking he was so young. Good for you for sticking to your sobriety and helping your friend do the same under really difficult circumstances.
