navigating boredom
Welcome alive2day!
It's pretty normal to feel bored at first..... I didn't know what to do with myself, either, when I first got sober. I spent a lot of time here, which helped, and just putting one foot in front of the other, one day at a time. I took on little projects (cleaning out a closet, stuff like that), and also gave my little rewards along the way (carryout from a fav restaurant, or whatever).
I think the reason we're so bored is because we didn't develop interests and hobbies while drinking. It takes time to rediscover ourselves. After a couple months, I started enjoying things again. It really does get better.....
