Another Sober Weekend

Wow...fourth weekend in a row and not had a drink. My weekends seem to have a new pattern. Sober on Saturday morning and sober on Sunday morning. A whole weekend of feeling good and not hungover. I really can't remember since January when I have had a weekend when I actually do something constructive with my time. I really feel that not beating myself up after drinking on Tuesday has enabled me to carry on with changing. Usually I'd say f...k it and carry on drinking, go back to my old ways believing that I am not capable of change. I know that's not the case. One mistake does not a character make. Thank you SR for reminding me to keep things in persepctive and carry on x

I think I see what you mean. Any day we don't drink is a positive even if we didn't reach the ideal of staying sober all of the time. For me, it doesn't work over the long term but it is a start and I appreciate every sober day!

Sassy

What a great gift to wake up sober. I dreaded those first feelings, eyes heavy upon opening, dizzy, mouth dry as a desert, checking to see what I am wearing (or not, yikes!) , looking at my phone to see who I called/texted/facebooked. No matter how tired I am now on some mornings it beats a hangover any day! I want to stay grateful for that
