Its a lifetime journey...
Hi everyone, Im Kim and a recovering by the moment alcoholic.I chose yesterday to get the shot(in my tush) of Vivitrol.
I have alot of tools of recovery but the cravings just would not go away.My psychologist suggested this method of therapy.
As I search for peace in my life moves forward...I knew I needed help from a group to support my decision.Ive landed here
I come with a wealth of information also as I have been in and out of incarceration due to my disease.I am a child of an alcoholic too.
There has not been any happiness to being an addict but Im proud to say I keep pushing forward.....

The question of Vivitrol....VIVITROL is a prescription injectable medicine used:
To prevent relapse to opioid dependence, after opioid detox OR
To treat alcohol dependence (alcoholism)
Basically it can block alcohol cravings and as I am in day 2....Its working!
Is I see it.....instead of going to detox I can use the Sobriety tools that I have learned and put them to use without the alcohol cravings!The shot is good for a month, next shot is scheduled for april 1st.
