Hi , Trotter they can help by supporting and encouraging but for the first few days can check on a safe withdrawal and even prescribe if they feel you might benefit. Remember it's also to there benefit that you become healthier .
Good luck keep on here, it's the single most helpful thing to keep sober.

Trotter,
We like to just take each day as it comes. One day at a time...sometimes less...One minute at a time. I can't get drunk if I don't drink. That's called holding on by the fingernails. It is not fun! We've all been there and if you give AA a chance, it can work for you. If you are willing!
