Wanted to say hi and I signed up because of all the positive support overhead so far. I'm on my 17th night of sobriety. Been a heavy drinker for sometime recently, like the last 4 years I haven't went more then 3 days without drinking....After having some pains near rib cage decided to get it checked out. Long story short, Doctor found that I have ulcers in esophagus and need to stop yesterday. Also, the pain is acute pancreatitis. So, I'm sort of forced to and want to stop all together.....I'm just having trouble listening to my body, go coupe days without it and feel I can tear it up. Then I feel bad for days. Hangovers are not like they used too be, it's something way different. I'm going to give this a shot ( no pun intended).
Welcome to SR and congratulations on 17 days! It seems as if your body is telling you "enough!!!" Unfortunately, it takes the mind a while to catch up, but the good news is that in the meantime, you can read around here, find out you're not alone, and get some good ES&H (experience, strength and hope).
Hugs and prayers,
Amy
