Starting out Day 4
Starting out Day 4
Well, first of all, it is so nice to not wake up hung over. This morning I was finally able to enjoy a cup of french vanilla coffee without getting shakes from the alcohol withdrawal as well. It's nice to wake up feeling refreshed instead of feeling like I got hit by a truck.
Today my AVRT materials should arrive and tomorrow evening will be my first SMART meeting. Not sure which approach I'll take just yet but might combine the two a bit at first and see what works best for me.
It's great to be starting on a new journey for the rest of my life.

I've almost completed reading the forum posts on here about it - a lot of good info has been posted on here. I'm really looking forward to getting the books today and reading some of the things they are referencing.
Mark, I am glad you are going to a meeting because it is the face-to-face interaction that means the most. SF is my favorite city--you are so lucky to be somewhere that has SMART meetings.
And I'll look into AVRT, so many folks talk about it here...

Hi Mark.
Congratulations on day 4! It sounds like you are very dedicated, and I'm very glad to hear the motivation in your posts. I don't know what AVRT is, but thanks for referencing it. It will give me something to look into today!
Best to you!

The AVRT books just arrived now. I've got some reading to do now for sure.
Thank you for all the encouragement. And yes, I am motivated and intend to stay that way no matter what it takes.
