Hello ... help please!

Hi everyone ... so, I am an American living in Buenos Aires. I have been drinking liquor almost daily for at least 5 years. I have wanted to cut down for a while, but I have found many new stressors in this city, and I am stuck here for a while.
I've been without a cocktail since yesterday afternoon, and it's been pretty awful. I've never done this before. Had very fitful, nightmare laden sleep last night and have spent most of today in bed trying to sleep through this, and have been unable to keep much of any food down. :/

Any helpful tips or words of wisdom would be appreciated. I am going crazy here.

Welcome lahawk, no real advice apart from stay with it drink plenty of water, if you are really struggling try to see a doctor. I hope it passes soon.

Welcome lahawk. It's great to have you here. Those early days are very uncomfortable, but knowing you aren't alone should help. Also, once it's over you never have to go back there again. You can do it!

Hi Lahawk, the first few days can be really hard but once you are through them it does get easier. Try to rest as much as possible, eat little amounts of easily digestable food, I found soup easy to eat and quite comforting. Also if you can do something that you like while recovering it can help, I managed to start reading around about the second/third day, I just rested as much as possible. Stick with this, it does pass!
