I'm in the same boat. Quit drinking AGAIN so I wasn't sure how my old drinking friends would react. I told close family and friends. But recently was invited out by a coworker to go get drinks. I froze up and felt so uncomfortable not knowing what to say. I declined the invite since I am so newly sober. But I know these thing will come up in my future. And having a go to line is something I think will be good to have. Being sober is the most important thing to me everything else will fall into place.
