Welcome to SR. We're so happy you joined us. You'll find a lot of help and friendship here. We're all in this together - you're not alone anymore.

The most difficult thing is to admit you have a problem - and you've done that. I was far too stubborn, and spent too many years trying to stop on my own. I always failed. I'm glad you've reached out for support.

Welcome, Carl. There's a wide array of present and former alcohol abusers here, all trying to make a brighter future by helping each other. You've come to the right place.

Carl my two cents is that it's easy to admit I was a drunk not as easy to accept it and harder still living a sober life. That being said this site is full of people who have varying lengths of sobriety who can chime in (for me two weeks without the smokes and 87 days without any alcohol)
