Smile Just checking in

Hello everyone!

Today I have 8 days clean from all mind-altering chemicals.. I've noticed my appetite has returned! Too the point where I'm tending to over-eat and get a tummy ache lol oh well, better than being strung out and not eating for days
Also, I've noticed I'm not really sweating anymore, particularly at night, I would always get super bad night/cold sweats while sleeping. I'm still having trouble sleeping at night, due to my mind not shutting up for long enough for me to fall asleep, but thats probably something I should talk to my doctor about.

I also went to an NA meeting last night, I shared my experience last week while I was trying choke back my tears.. glad I got it out though.. going to another meeting tonight with my friend in recovery

And, as some of you may know, I'm being admitted to a (beautiful) 6-month rehab program on monday.. I'm excited!

So yeah, just checking in happy sober Saturday everyone!

Jake C.

Go to the rehab and don't let ANYTHING that pops into your mind (and it will, often) talk you into leaving. Stay.. no matter what !

All the best.

Great hearing from you, jake. You are really coming out into the sunshine again. I'm glad you're going to rehab, even though you feel good. It'll reinforce everything you're striving for, and make your recovery even better. We are proud of you.

The thought of leaving rehab never entered my mind, and that's a kind of dangerous place to be.

It probably is a really good idea to think over some defense strategies for when this happens. Six months is a long time...

My detox program gave me the miracle of sobriety. Please take full advantage of the gift you are receiving!

Thank you all for the support!

I have a good feeling about this time, and the fact that I'm finally on the right medication makes me much less impulsive and less likely to leave.. still, I'm definately going to brainstorm and write down some strategies incase the thought does enter my mind.
