Hello and help...
Hi everyone,
Let me just say all the posts I have read are wonderful and heartbreaking. I am new to this forum, and I am an alcoholic. It's funny, people are always talking about how hard it is to admit to that, but it wasn't very hard for me. When you get up and open a bottle of wine and finish it in 1 hour (by 8am!) there really is no other word for it. I look forward to reading your posts, getting help, and maybe even try to help out as well. I so don't want to hit bottom by losing my family, my kids, and my job. I just really need help.
Looking forward to talking to all of you,
Paul

I hope my posts haven't been heartbreaking ...

Hi, Paul. Welcome to SR!
You'll find tons of support here that will help you to overcome addiction. Wine was my drink of choice as well, and in my early sobriety it was hard to imagine I could do without it. But it is possible, and it is much better! I'm almost 4 months sober and can tell that it is worth it!
Take one day at a time, read and post here, plan your time to stay away from booze, stick to sobriety.
My best wishes to you.
Take care and have a good day.

Hey Paul -
I know when I was feeling my worst in the first couple of weeks, being here on SR really really helped. It distracted me, heart-warmed me, confused me, enlightened, and helped me just dig in and bear it! It will get better, really really. 40 days plus - I was a wino.
Welcome.

Your mornings and your days become so much brighter once you no longer feel the need to drink. Keep reading the various posts as well as looking at the older ones too. Tons of information and support.
Welcome Paul. As a relative newcomer myself I can't express how helpful it is to be here talking to people going through similar struggles and knowing: I am not alone! Looking forward to having you as part of the community.
