First weekend
This is the first weekend in a month for me to stay sober. I am very happy about that. On the road to recovery.
I think the big thing that has helped me is that my boyfriend of 6 years has all but quit drinking. He had hernia surgery a few weeks ago and cannot stomach the alcohol. He has tried twice to have a beer, a decent kind that he likes, and can't finish it. He has had surgery before and has gone right back to drinking afterwards. He has also lost quite a bit of weight. He is a big guy and it shows in his stomach area. Plus he went to the doctor's and weighed 10 pounds less in 3 weeks. He is very proud of that. All the alcohol is out of our house now because neither of us are drinking. It's very comforting to finally have a partner on this journey.
