Can I check in with someone tomorrow night?
Pretty new here but I've had a few posts as some might know.
The short, I've had the most progress, and maybe more important, invaluable learnings, since my first posts here when I declared I went my first night without alcohol.
Progress, and steps backwards too. Counsellor and GP help also for some brief history, but these forums are incredible.
I've got a new experience/meeting happening tomorrow night in the way of besting this. Again, learning what my situation with this is, is something I was hardy aware of a fortnight ago. Still dealing with that fear in a way, but I want to deal that fear - I'm very clear and honest with myself on that now.
Not asking anyone to read my past posts over the fortnight, but I'd love if there were someone's I could check in with tomorrow night here so I can let you know, well let you know I'm sober.

And BTW Kys, I know everyone else here is planning it as well, but I will definitely be sober tomorrow night, but think of it as keeping me/us accountable too, we're all in this together. Stay strong!!

Sent you a friend req. Post here & be proud of another 24 hrs! Check in as often as possible. One thing with us alcoholics its hard to admit we are powerless, and turely ask for help. But it sounds like you want to be held accountable! Looking forward to your next "check in"

Hello everyone.
I'm not sure you will read this at such a later stage, over a week on. Truth is I've continued to drink every night since. Those 3 days (few posts back) I went sober seems like a lifetime ago, yet was only the other the week.
I thank you all for your messages. I've read all your posts over again a few times tonight. Fantastic people.
What have I done since to better my situation? Continued with my alcohol counselling, but to be honest, while the counsellor is fantastic I generally tend to table the coaching/strategies before they do as I've researched so much around this. I like the sessions, but I still like the weekly realty check - perhaps I'm getting ahead of myself though, I'm only a few weeks in.
Work influence/pressure is a big factor for me and my drinking. And then my drinking is a reason I have such pressure at work too.
The thing that really got me me through those three days was my great GP who specialises in this kind of thing also. But now checking back with him (weekly) seems like I'm just not using that like I should be either. Sometimes or even next time I feel I can't see the GP again if I can't update with substantial progress.

Hey Kys, we're not going any where. Hope things work out for you, whatever your plans are. It's good to have commitments, they keep me doing the right thing too. Hope you're doing better.
