I did something that I would NEVER dreamed of a month ago!

When I was cleaning up the basement that last few days I have come across 2 almost full large bottles of Vodka! I walked right over to the drain & dumped them out! And oddly my 1st thought wasn't What the Heck are you thinking!!!
It was "Man what I could have spent that Money on instead" !

I truly would have jumped for joy if I found these a couple months ago, it would have been like finding gold, because as usual you find new hiding spots & cant remember them days later.

I know each milestone doesn't get easier, but its nice to know sometimes they feel good when you do the right thing. ~Peace

I can relate sunshine. I dumped out my alcohol yesterday. I was worried that it might make me sad or anxious, but it was absolutely liberating.

My extended family doesn't know yet about my sobriety. They will know when they slowly start to realize that I am never drinking at family gatherings. I think this is probably the best way to deal with my family.

My wife being pregnant is an excellent "cover" as it is common for people to give up drinking with their wives when they're pregnant. Not that I have to have a "cover" or excuses to not drink, but I think it helps me in my early stages of recovery.

Right now my wife does t really believe me when I tell her I am done drinking. Actions speak louder than words. I will prove it over time!

Good luck!

Great job on dumping that poison. I wonder why it is that so many of us turn to vodka in our drinking careers. I see more posts regarding this type of alcohol than others. Maybe I am just noticing them more though as that is exactly what did me and drinking in.
