A strange day. I'm thinking too far ahead and being overwhelmed by that. Silly I know but when something like alcohol has been a major part of your life, living without it seems odd, scary, daunting....the list could go on. I have been drinking for so long it seems a part of me. Not every day but the days when I wasn't drinking was because I was hungover. Therefore I can say that alcohol has been part of my life for 26 years (I'm 46). Even when it's been absent it's been present if that makes sense. In my thoughts or in my bloodstream...it's always been there. 6 days without it is illuminating so let there be light I say. Really looking forward to tomorrow. 1 week ...hurray! x

Yes Caravagio that makes perfect sense. I have just as many years...but have made it 30+ days. Hang on practice some compassion for yourself right now. Tread lightly. All kinds of thoughts feelings memories will loom. It will feel less heavy soon. Your doing great.

Congrats on 6 days! Yeah, for us, it isn't natural to be sober. It does feel weird and scary, but it gets much better.

The future will take care of itself, so try to focus on today, this moment. Great post and keep going.
