Day 4 and 5

Wow...can't believe I've made it to Day 5. Very happy about that but not so happy I want to go out and celebrate. This is not easy and I can't pretend it is. Tomorrow is Day 6 and then on Thursday will be one week. Will the counting ever stop. Weirdly it's like a competition. I'm looking forward to achieving targets. It's great to be able to share this with people so once again thank you forum.

I think you SHOULD celebrate, if only in some small way. 5 days sober is no easy feat. Congratulations!

Great stuff reaching day 5, I'm now on day 36 and my days 4 and 5 don't seem that long ago.

I'm now catching up with the number of days I'm sober as I forget to count everyday, if that makes sense.

Keep at

Well, I saw a speaker last week with 49 years and I know an AA guy with over 60 years (seriously). So I guess it only has to stop if you want it to.

Oh, and yes. It IS a competition.

Congrats on your 5 days caravagio

for me it's not a competition

I needed to count in the beginning.... it was important for me to mark and acknowledge the changes in my life...but for me, as my recovery became more and more integrated in my life and more and more synonymous with it, I stopped counting around the ninety day mark

I don't count the days I'm alive, I just live 'em

D

Thank you Dee74...can't wait for my recovery to be integrated into my life. That seems really far away...

Congrats Caravagio - I like the counting aspect - I have 75 days at the stroke of midnight for not taking a drink and I have 45 hours and 44 min of not smoking!

Funny, I never know what day I'm on. I have to use that Sobriety Calculator each time I want to know!
