Superbowl Sunday without a drink Day 34 of sobriety for me. Two different friends invited me out to bars to watch the Superbowl, but I gently and firmly told them that sitting in a bar for hours (the broadcast lasts forever) was not a good idea for me. I watched the game in my house without needing a drink. One friend in particular keeps asking me to a bar so "you can have coffee and I can have a drink." But she means half-dozen double vodkas, and I don't find that prospect entertaining at all. I'd appreciate any suggestions about other ways to tell my old drinking buddies I am no longer interested. Every day is a better day... |
Yeah, many of us stayed home, and I agree, sitting there watching other people getting trashed it NOT all that entertaining. Makes me wonder, was I really like that? Yeah, I guess I was. Meh. :a136: |
No thanks, I have stopped drinking... Trying to work on my health... Not on my diet... Can't... Taking antibiotics... I have other plans... It makes me feel horrible.... I'm training for something (race).... I have a big day tomorrow.... Random things that I have said. |
I am not that creative. I just say I am trying change myself. Bars bore me. |
I stayed home too and know that there are MANY people out there with a hangover today....not me!!! Making it through these particular days without drinking is a big deal; congratulations! |
Yep, waking up on Monday morning after the SuperBowl feeling fairly good is almost as good as waking up on New Years Day sober. And, if we need a shot of gratitude, we get to look around at others' bloodshot eyes this morning. |
