Two weeks in and stuggling big time

So two weeks in today and I'm really struggling, fell out with wife big time. She's going out tonight with her friends drinking, and I don't know what to do... My mate are going to the pub , I need a drink to chill out but know its gonna make it worse ....

Sounds like the perfect time to stay home and relax.

As tempting as that may feel, you will likely end up really regretting it. I agree with the above poster...take some sober time for yourself!

You don't need a drink.

Please don't let your addictive voice set you up.

You could try an AA meeting so you are with others who understand.

Or read or find a hobby or clean something, do something you haven't done in a while.

You can get through this sober!

Think about how you'll feel tomorrow if you do drink. You've probably woken up regretting the previous night many times before. Then think about how you'll feel if you don't drink. Maybe you'll still be stressed, but you will be proud of yourself and feel stronger for having not had a drink when you really really wanted to. Congrats on two weeks! You can do it!

Ugh. I don't think you're wife soulds be going out drinking. That makes it harder. She should be supportive and abstain if possible.

Instead of going to the pub with your mates, hang out with us!

You have made the right choice for YOU and cannot base your life on the actions of others.

Stay Strong and STAY SOBER!

Hey man, if you NEED a drink, why are you trying to stop?

Going to the pub is one of a million other things that you could be doing. Hitting a meeting is a great idea. I wouldn't focus on what your wife is doing - it's your sobriety at stake.

I agree with everyone else.

Play it thru in your head. Play it ALL the way to the bitter end. That usually does it for me.

I can find every excuse for taking more pain pills but the one question that really changed it is. Are you really in pain?? Isn't it sad the answer is almost always no!!=(
