Weeeeeeee!!! and YAHOO!!!

It's so nice to be half way through the week and closer to the weekend.

How are you all doing? I am still doing well, work was crazy the first couple of days and today was much more mellow. Tomorrow a little more busy, but PAY DAY!!! Then one more day to another fabulous weekend. Looking forward to it.

One of my sober gf's stopped by my office before I left for the day, one of my friends that I shared my relapse with, was good to see her, and we are trying to set a coffee date.

Anyway, all is well, hope you all are also. Going out for a run and will see you all on the other side.

:)

GREAT for you!! :)

vegibean 01-30-2013 04:07 PM

Thanks Pippo and et al. My run was great, I know I'm going to crash well tonight, I hope you all do too.

Murchovski ~ I go in with an upbeat attitude and sometimes things just getting nutty, I just hold on tight, take my hour which always boosts me back up and am soooooooooooo grateful for when the 5 o'clock bell rings. :)

Vegi, it sounds like you're doing great!

vegibean 01-30-2013 05:02 PM

Anna, I'm doing better than I was a month ago and I'm glad that I KNOW I have all of the tools to do the right thing, because I also know that I DO NOT want to end up where I was a year before I joined this site. This place has been a blessing as well, I am so happy to be back here and even more grateful to see of of my SR friends from the last year still here. :)

Veg, do you do any races--5k, 10k, etc? I did several olympic and sprint triathlons and a few short road races last summer, but it was during the height of my prescription drug use. Really looking forward to doing those again this year with a clear mind and body!

vegibean 01-30-2013 05:18 PM

No I haven't but I have thought about it. I'm 42 (not that it's too late) but between work, school, my son and all else I just don't have ENOUGH time to do that. I have dreamed of being able to do JUST school so I can really work on my physical strength and body work in general. I love running, playing tennis, going to the gym, and at my age, that's a good thing.

Yeah, exercise and sobriety have been good for me. I really would like to try one, I know I could do it. :)

Sp happy to hear you doing well vegibean! You are a sweetheart! :)

LivingStronger 01-30-2013 05:31 PM

Good for you, Veg. I think, or hope, exercise will be a big part of my sobriety, as well. I definitely need something to feed that addictive personality of mine.

Thanks sunshine, so are you, glad you got the job!!

LivingStrong, I say the same thing allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the time, "why can't I just be addicted to exercise and eating well?" My gf Emily is like that, she and I went to treatment together and you should see her, and she lovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvves running! I want that to be me. :)

Well I beat around the bush for a long time before deciding to sign up for that first race. My main procrastinating thought was, "I need to get in better shape, then ill sign up". But you know what? I was trying to put the cart in front of the horse. Once I signed up, the obsession followed. I didn't win any races, nor do I really ever expect to, but I did manage to lose about 80 lbs and get in perhaps the best shape of my life.
