Hi cute..
You know I think you're super cute and all...but it is not harder to quit because you are gay. I'm sorry, it's not. That kind of thinking is your Addictive Voice, telling you that there are things that are just too huge to surmount. We both know it's not true. You are stong, smart, and capable and can do whatever you put your mind to. Tell you Additive Voice to kindly pipe the f*ck down already, you're in charge, not it.

Hi Cute,
I hope you are feeling a bit stronger as the days go by. I am sorry you have felt it has been more difficult because of your sexual orientation. I could care less about anyone's personal choices but I am not you and have not had to walk in your shoes or had your experiences in life. So if you feel it makes it more difficult for you I will not disagree. The most important thing is that if you do indeed believe that it will make it harder then you will need to take extra measures to make sure that you do all you can to succeed. I am rooting for you and I hope that you have some friends that will be supportive of your choice to get clean and stay that way. Keep checking in and just take each day as it comes.

Hi Cutie!
You have a lot of support here at SR. Please use it!
I went to America today, my first trip to the mainland since sobriety. We managed to pass by all the nice restaurants and all the big stores without getting any wine. It's just not part of our lifestyle anymore (but we have to keep reminding each other).
Just keep on keepin' on!
Aloha
:P

I cant quote the person quoted, but whats the big deal if your avatar is of yourself?? If this were a meeting wouldn't we be face to face ? would "who we see here, what we hear here, let it stay here" still apply? I would like to think so! In faith of that Im posting a picture of myself for my avatar.
I like to think of this site as an online AA/NA meeting, Ill rely on the rule and respect of anonymity.

I'm not picking a fight with you and what you choose to do is of no concern to me.
I'm just letting you know that there is nothing anonymous about SR if you post your real name, any identifying info or a picture of yourself.

No fight intended, I don't really care if people know I am a non-practicing alcoholic, better them see me on here, cleaning my life up, rather than IRL, walking out of a liquor store at 9am with a liter of vodka in hand.
hiding who I really was is something that drove me to drink, It drove me to be isolate, and antisocial, putting myself out there is almost therapeutic.
