First Meeting

I finally went to my first AA meeting. I was lucky to have a good friend to go with. I had been putting this off, but it was really something I needed to do. I had a great first experience and I am looking forward to going again. And I got my first chip.

I now have over 80 days under my belt, so I am getting there. But I know I need more tools to keep this up forever. Thanks to all the people here that share about the benefits of AA. It was just enough to get me to give it a shot.

Thank you for going to the meeting. It's like SR--the more people and the more they share, the better.

Great job! Now just keep going back. I know how hard it is to walk through those doors the first time, but it is so worth it.
So, congrtaulations to you!

i am glad you went. i remember when i walked thru those doors, scared as hell too, but dont be embarrassed.

be embarrasses about going to the liquor store, three times in one day and having the same clerk looking at you.
were we embarrassed then, yes, but we shrugged it off.

please keep going, you will be glad you did. this is what you have been looking for. A way out.

Great job!!! Keep going back!!! I made tons of friends this way, and that has helped me immensely as part of my problem was having a bunch of "friends" that only wanted to party.
