Can't believe my sad news my dad passing away :( xxx
me01, I am so sorry, I lost my dad right before I went into rehab and one of the last things he said to me was that he hoped I could put the bottle down, he even said it in a gentle caring way, I told him "me too dad". I think feeling that he was still close to me helped me also.
I'm sorry about the sudden loss and the fact that you were all in the process of getting him better with positive expectations, I can ONLY imagine the devastation you feel.
I don't think there is anything anyone can say to someone who has lost someone that they love so much, but that if you need anything, we are all here for you.

Hello me01. I'll be praying for you to be comforted through this awful time.
You have the right attitude, though. Your father was so proud of you for quitting. It's a wonderful tribute to him to continue on your journey to a clean and sober life. I agree with you - he is watching over you and will always be part of you. I'm glad you shared these feelings with us.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My dad passed away a year and a half ago and not a day goes by that I don't miss him. My drinking went into overdrive after he died, but one day I just decided that the last thing he'd want is for me to drink myself to death.
As much as your heart is breaking, time will balm your wounds somewhat. You & your family will be in my thoughts.

I'm glad you shared this with us, me01. That's what we're all here for - to hold each other up when bad things happen. Proud of you for not giving in to temptation. There's no comfort to be found in it - we finally learned that.
Please let us know how you and your family are doing.

We're happy to share in some small way the pain you are feeling. I'm glad you have talked about it with us. Things will get better, me01. Prayers will continue for you and your family.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your dad. One of the hardest things to go through. Stay strong and let your memories carry you through-the pain does ease with time and I believe your dad will always remain with you.
