sobriety. It's almost like its own "high."

I love not worrying about being able to intelligently converse with my colleagues and my advisors because I'm hungover.

I love feeling my brain recover more each day without the poison. I love feeling my thoughts, insights, and ideas slowly approaching the speed of light again.

I love school. I love learning. I love school. I love learning. I love school. I love learning.

I love KNOWING that I'll make a difference in people's lives now.

I love *knowing* I don't drink. It's so liberating.

Have a beautiful day everyone!

I bet your colleagues and advisors are thankful too. One of the delusions of addiction is believing nobody knows.

Here, what are you studying in school? Going for your degree? I'm studying Psychology. I wanna be a therapist when I grow up.

not "almost" like...it is a high for me!

And for me, that feeling hasn't been temporary. I have felt this way for many years now...

and ps I'm a teacher, so nothing makes me happier than to hear that someone loves learning...knowledge is power

I told a couple of trusted colleagues who also had problems with alcohol. There was one incident at a summit where I was really drunk, but other people were drinking too. Other than that, I suspect people thought I was probably just very depressed and flat.
