This is what the sober me does

when left at home alone on a Friday:

Went to eat sushi with a friend, then shopping. Got some new sheets! Super soft, they are in the dryer right now.

Went to the 6:30 meeting

Went to Tarjay. Got SWEETS! Those nutty ice cream cones, dove dark chocolates, and frozen cherry turnovers.

Had Starbucks TWICE today so I am bouncin'....

I had a great day and I am so glad to be sober enjoying it. I will probably stay up too late tonight, but that is okay. At least I will remember it!

That is awesome Elisabeth! Right now I'm babysitting my granddaughter. It feels good that I'm not hungover and my daughter can depend on me to be here when she needs me.

When they get home, I will probably make popcorn for Miss Princess and I and then I will probably read. haha I don't dare make the popcorn now, my daughter will think that is what I made her for dinner!

Good for you! Even though I'm 46, I still play videogames (Wife actually bought me a new 500gb PS3 for Christmas!) and it's great remembering the last point in the game I played. As opposed to turning the machine on the next day, loading my last saved game and thinking "how the heck did I get here?" My reflexes and hand-eye co-ordination is better too. And now I get out more too; was able to meet some friends from interstate for breakfast this morning!

I hear you! I had the same problem when I read. Couldn't remember what I read when I picked it up sober.

Sounds like a great day! Especially the warm sheets in the dryer (it's really cold here tonight)

Funny how the list of what we did during a day is so much longer than it was when we were drinking!

That would have taken me days to do when I was drinking...

Great post!

What a super day! I had coffee with my neice thurs and helped my son with his revision for a history exam... seems simple enough dosen't it?
A few weeks ago I wouldn't have had the motivation or the concentration for anything.

I have been booze free seven days now. The other night I wrote four poems and did five paintings. I can't sleep and so I have these rushes of energy now and again. I feel like parts of me that wanted to create things were drowned by alcohol. Today I am cleaning my apartment, doing laundry, and writing a lesson plan. I hope to attend my first AA meeting tonight and reward my first week with my favorite food: sushi.
