grateful

Today I am feeling truly grateful.

Day 4 of sobriety - actually sleeping and eating.

I knew my car would be paid off this month (after 6 years!!!) but got a surprise today - I only owe 1/2 a payment!

Per my counselor's advice, I am going to the pound after work today to look for a new dog. I haven't had a dog in nearly a year and a half. I have been waiting because of boyfriend's cat, but he has agreed with her that having a dog will give me something to focus on other than drinking.

So I am feeling grateful today. Hopefully this feeling will last and help me fight off my AV!

Thanks for reading along!
:-)

Thanks for sharing, Freev.

And thanks for going to the pound. You'll find that a lot of chores in sobriety are similar--a bit of work, but very rewarding.

Cheers for the post FREEV, I prefer animals to humans. Dogs have a funny way of knowing exactly what we are thinking and can be very intune with us.

Good work, FREEV. A paid off car, a new dog, and a great new beginning for you. You're on your way.

I just saw a car magnet in the shape of a paw print that said "who rescued who?" I thought that was so cool. I had my ridgeback for 14 years before he passed. I have never had a more unconditional love than his. Congrats on quitting drinking and changing your life. Wonderful....
