4.89538 months sober and counting!!!
Hey, everyone! I haven't checked in here in awhile now, but wanted to pop in and say "HELLO!!!". I have 149 days (or 4.89538 months) of sobriety and I'm so happy! It is such a wonderful feeling not to be completely consumed by the thought of alcohol. Who knew that stopping drinking would free up so much real estate in my head?!?!? It's incredible how freakin' awesome my life is now. My husband and I are no longer fighting and when we do have a disagreement, I can rationally discuss the situation without feeling like I need to hit the bottle afterwards for comfort. Keep on, keepin' on, y'all! And for those of you just starting out, let me just say that it is so worth it to get and stay sober. I can promise you that much. :-)
I read your title as 489,538 months sober and was wondering how :-) but 4.89 months is just a good, in fact it's better. Im just two days behind you so i hope to never overtake you or fall behind! Massive congrat congratulations - keep it up! X
Such a positive post! Congratulations and thanks for reminding me that it gets better. I feel pretty amazing right now on 83 days. I love the serenity, quiet acceptance and freedom I feel.
Thank you

All the best.

I can honestly tell you that these SR Forums helped the most. Also, being totally honest with myself and actually coming clean to a good friend of mine was key.
