starting over
I am sitting here feeling like a failure. I made it to 60 days clean. Tonight I gave in and I feel so bad. I thought I had my problem in a cokehold. HA!!! My wife is mad and rightfully so. She suggested I blog daily but I thought it wouldn't help. I'm trying now because I really need the help. I want to be the man I know I can be. How did I let this happen again!!!! Day one again tomorrow.
LiNA, well then you found the right place if you want to blog regularly. Welcome to SR, there are tons of people here 24/7, and very supportive. Pick yourself up, and get back on track. Day 1 is better than none at all, and 60 days is a success in itself, congrats on doing THAT!!

Relapse is a part of recovery. You have those 60 days, you made a mistake. So what? Its OK.
Just pick yourself up and move forward. I have made many mistakes and have relapsed several times in my sobriety. Its tough, we all know this. We wouldn't be alkies/addicts if it were easy.
I want to congratulate you on your 60 day sobriety. I have a lot of respect for that and do not have that much time sober currently.

Like others have said relapse is a part of recovery. I know that if it wasn't for my relapses I wouldn't be applying as much effort to my recovery. They were a valuable learning curve.

A blog can help us get some perspective as we seek the words, hear ourselves speak. Read our own story, and sometimes get feedback.
It might help you discover who that man you want to be is, and whether or not there is a reason you self sabatoge yourself.

Hi LinNA
Try not to beat yourself up too much. It's pointless. Whats done is done.
Take whatever lesson you can and keep moving forward...this can be a new start
I have to disagree slightly with others here tho...
I don't see relapse as a part of recovery - it's a part of addiction.
What we have to do is find the means to cross over, for good, from addiction to recovery.
Sometimes we can stop drinking or drugging for a while and convince ourselves we've made it...but we soon find we haven't moved much at all and we're still on the old side.
It takes a little more effort to actually make the crossing I think...but coming here is a great start
welcome LinNA
