Until we give up drinking there can be no peace. If you are like 1000's of others you will be right back to where you were faster than you can say, "I can control my drinking."
Sorry but these are the realities of alcoholism

So you think your reason for drinking is different from the reason you use other drugs? Don't you do both to get high or feel different?
Most people who have an addiction to drinking or to drugs find that to stay clean/sober they have to avoid both. Use of one tends to lead to use of the other. If your goal is to stay clean of drugs, then you would be well advised to avoid the booze, too.
And it's a little disturbing that you seem to think it's amusing that you did it. "Slipping up once in a while" may happen to some people, but it isn't anything to brag about. This is a matter of life and death to a lot of us here, and possibly to you, too.

OK well I'm not bragging About it that's dumb if anyways me had a problem. With me saying that I was drinking then they shouldn't have comment it I don't think that because I did drugs I should stop drinking I'm not an alcoholic
So if you've stopped doing drugs and you're not an alcoholic why does it matter if you drink a little rum?
Personally though I use stuff to make me feel better about myself. I don't thing that the problem is the substance it's the state of mind. There's no specific reason either. I used to come with excuses/reasons but really it didn't matter why.

I don't want to NOT support anyone on here, but if you don't think you have a problem...???
I have friends that have quit doing drugs, and they occasionally drink, I have one friend who had a bad drug problem, and drinks every weekend, I would call him a binge drinker...
Do you think your relationship with alcohol is healthy, or not? I think that's the question that you need to ask yourself.
Either way, I think the point of everyone else is that they don't want to see you destroy your life because you chose a different "drug", as another poster pointed out, alcohol is a drug... still.
It's also kind of insensitive to post on a board where people are desperately trying to stay sober that you drank and seem happy about it. Kind of a tease.
Kind of like going to a weight watchers board and posting I had a huge triple ice cream sundae with extra hot fudge
