Hi Hamabi--

Well not exactly because if you had 1 day of desserts, and then went back to your diet you would not have gained the 30lbs back.....but if you were to continue abusing you diet then that would lead to relapse and you would be 30 lbs overweight again or a drunk again. Right?

That's not really a fair comparison. A diet is generally to moderate the types and amounts of food that you eat to lose/sustain a healthy weight - not to completely eliminate eating forever. Sobriety is COMPLETELY eliminating your DOC from your life.
