I had almost 6 years and figured I was cured.

I wasn't.

Just here as support. I drank again today, and have GREAT plans for tomorrow (we all know how that goes...)

Thanks Echnique,

Somewhere as a child I learned "dishonesty" and it is a difficult habit to break. I am working on it....

7 years of sobriety is a very good run. I know most non alcoholic can't do that. 3 days of drinking will not change the fact that you had 7 years under your belt. Get back on the horse and enjoy life again. Thinking too much about those 3 days will only make things worst.

I guess you know the deal, start today talk with your sponsor , not sure anyone else needs to know you've got more than enough going on, being with someone dying is hard being with someone dying and drunk or hungover is worse. Pick yourself up, feel good about your changes of the last 7 years and get them working for you again , stay close to here and don't pick up. Replacing the drink is one thing hiding another, maybe a dry house for a time might be good, I'm sure you could broach the subject , saying at the moment you really don't need it around.
Good luck you don't need to unravel and my thoughts to you during this difficult time.
John.
