What do you do with your tokens?
What do you do with your tokens?
What do most of you do with your tokens? I am darn proud of acquiring mine, and don't know what to do. I am only two months sober, but they mean a lot to me.
Don't want to toss them in a drawer or box. Ideas?

When members begin to sponsor others
then they present them their token at a
birthday or anniversary meeting. My sponsor
passed on hers to me that her sponsor and
my grand sponsor passed on to her.
PASS IT ON is a wonderful phrase learned
in recovery as a reminder to pass on your
own ESH, experiences, strengths and hopes
to newcomers just as it was so freely passed
on to you.
It continues to work if we work it. Meaning,
the program of recovery works if we continue
to work it ourselves.

Oh wow, I had no idea about passing them on or trading them. I asked for wooden frame for mine for Christmas. It has the serenity prayer on it and 12 spots for coins. Now I wonder if I'm being greedy by keeping them??
My 'Just For Today' keyring is on my keys. The other ones are in a little box, that is inside a big box that is full of general recovery bits. I would love to find a nice way to display them, like incorporating them into furniture or something along those lines.
Natom.

Oh, keep them please!
There's no need to recycle. Give it to a sponsee, and if you ever decide you don't want any more it's no problem. A woman in our group has more sobriety than most of us have lifetime. When asked if she wanted her coin, she just said, "I already got it."

I carry my 5, 6 & 7 month coins in my purse, along with the bronze coloured coin my sponsor gave me when we first started working together. I'll often put that one in my pocket if I'm heading out somewhere and feel like I need the reminder, or extra strength. It's really quite soothing having it within reach
