Anyone else

ever get so happy just being SOBER, that you feel like crying out of gratitude? Just getting on your knees and crying? This is odd for me because I'm pretty atheistic, and yet I feel the urge to pray to SOMETHING. Just thank the world and this beautiful earth that I now have another chance at life. That it's not too late for me, for anyone.

I know I'm only a week into my sobriety, but I almost cried at my AA meeting, out of sheer joy.

Disclaimer: I may have Bipolar II, so that could be the reason for this. If so, an ultraradian cycler!

YES! I'll be driving and have what I call a "gratitude attack"....where I just start crying out of happiness.

Also, I do not have bipolar. Lol

I thought I was an atheist too until I discovered how much God is doing for me.

All the best.

HereIAm, I seriously was wondering if I was a little manic early on. It was really exciting to wake up and feel so good. Had some serious highs just having my coffee in the morning during the first few weeks. Feeling a little more balanced now.

Sobriety is full of ups and downs (and I have depression / bi-polar also so I smiled at your disclaimer) but the happy and grateful times I've had lately are absolutely amazing because I feel my emotions more than before and that includes all the good ones! Keep up the awesome work at AA! Do you have a sponsor?

Don't have a sponsor yet, but that's one of my goals for this week!

Awesome! Doing steps with a sponsor saved my ass. Look for someone who has what you want in sobriety (and I'm not talking material stuff - made that mistake with an earlier sponsor) and just ask! Usually they say sure! Good luck.
