Pains

Hello all

I'm day 3 into my quitting alcohol. Ive been drinking around 2 bottles of wine a night before bed for a while.

I'm experiencing aches and pains in my stomach and flank. Much worse than when I was drinking.

anyone else experience this?

Better see a doctor to be sure.
Heavy drnking puts a lot of stress on our guts and liver, and feeling pain when quitting and the system is adapting is normal, but better be safe than sorry, and see your doctor

I was a bottle of wine a day drinker.

I did experience kidney pain at the end. I was a mess.

If you are concerned about any damage please go to a doctor.

Best to get checked out. I always made sure I was drinking lots of water. I had trouble staying hydrated until new habits were formed.

I think a doctor is always the best course rather than waiting to see if things work out?

Thanks all. I've been to the dr before with these pains but that was while drinking and nothing came up from an ultra sound. Actually today they are much better, although i'm getting bad palpatations in the heart.... I'm drinking lots too. I hope it's mainly anxiety.

I hope you'll decide to see a Dr, and stop drinking vinono.

Alcohol is literal poison. Take a drop to your tongue and see how it burns. Now imagine what it is doing to your stomach and intestines once you guzzle a large amount.
Congrats on your sobriety so far! Keep it up and your body, mind, and soul will thank you for not dumping poison into it anymore.

I got pains after drinking in flank and stomach. Was the same as you, two bottles (minimum) a night. First thing is stop drinking and drink lots of water. You will need to go to a doctor and get checked. Pains would last from several days to weeks for me. There is no doubt I was/am killing myself by drinking. I'm on the recovery journey and it hasn't been easy.

Good luck!
