Talking Wow

They often say that other people notice the change in you before you do. A very good friend of mine who was around in my using days (never used but stuck by me) and I have become friendly again. She recently broke her hand and can't drive for 6 weeks. She was nice enough to lend me her car for 6 weeks so I can get to work and meetings. She came round earlier, we sorted out the insurance and she chucked me the keys. I have a feeling I will be going to meetings a bit further afield for the next 6 weeks or so. I am truly blessed.

Natom.

Good going! How far afield are you going? If the ice is thick enough you could make it across the pond!

Might be a bit too long a journey for the car. It's only little..but the likelihood is I will get to more meetings because I don't have to rely on public transport for a bit.

Thats great Natom, lovely to hear of a reward being sober/clean can bring. Ive read about a couple of them on here today and its like the "universe" is rewarding people for being good!

The universe opened a door for me too yesterday. On account of our alcoholism, my wife and I had been rather scarce in the neighborhood. Well, we went for a walk yesterday, and one of our neighbors stopped to wish us Happy New Year. And she also said we could walk on their property any time. They own 360 acres adjoining a 5,000 acre park!

Just another of the oh so many coupon's we receive in sobriety.

Keep doing the next right thing, and help that next alcoholic and addict.. Maybe pick someone up that doesnt drive. Pay it forward.

Great post.
