And it's too early to go to sleep... It's about the time i used to start drinking.
I think i'll take 2 Barbituates to calm me down.

Your body may not notice one small drink but your mind sure will. Don't do it, please. Don't throw away what you're working so hard to achieve.

I've read a lot about kindling effect. I'm trying to scare me that the next withdrawal will be worse, or i will not be able to stop after one drink...
I want to take those Barbituates because i know it's dangerous to take tranquilizers with alcohol and that would stop me from craving. Do anyone think it's a bad idea? I'm not asking for a medical advice, just an oppinion.

Weirdesttoneer... I'm on day 10 as well. So is ScottfromWI. Stick with us. Make it to day 11 with us. I am cheering for you, as are many other people on SR. It's not worth it.

You said you really want one... One is too many and 1000 is never enough. If you only had one, would it be worth the guilt tomorrow? And if you had enough to get hammered, would it be worth the hangover, the forgotten evening, and the possibility of more withdrawals, however slight they may be?

Play the tape all the way through before you make a decision. Best of luck!

Have you heard of urge surfing weird?
It worked for me

http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...e-surfing.html

try not to think of having cravings as a weakness or a failure - everyone has cravings - it's our response that's important.

are the barbiturates prescribed for you for anxiety WS?

Weirdstoner - that's right, I'm on day 10 here as well. Let's do this together and be strong. You are most likely right that the next detox/quitting will be worse..it was for me. But there's a really easy way to keep from finding out...just don't have the first one, right? We're pulling for you along with everyone else here - stay online and let us know how we can help.

Those barbituriares were prescribed for sleeping and alcohol withdrawal. apparently they are more efficient than benzos... as my doctor said..
Anyway, i didn't take them...
So.. tomorow it will my day 1 again
Wouldn't be easier to be 10 days and one?

You are NOT beyond support! Just get back on that horse, PLEASE. I relapsed yesterday as well. I feel like ****, the lowest of the low. But I can't let the alcohol win. As long as we know our goals, it will get easier with time.

I think you're getting overwrought WS- try and breathe a little and calm down

I drank for 20 years - the last five of those all day everyday - I tried to give up drinking weekly and never lasted a day.

I nearly died from my drinking.

If I can come back from that, you can come back from this

This is just the first hurdle, not the whole race.
Noone is beyond support

Yeah weird, please don't be so hard on yourself, and keep coming back. I saw that Dee shared a link with you about urge surfing, I'll post his post again...

http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...e-surfing.html

Maybe while you're sitting there feeling bad, you can check it out while you're relaxing. Good luck and don't give up, you can do this!!
