To face what I seek to escape through using would change so much.
To actually look at it, rationally, mindfully, without allowing fear of confrontation and fallout to dissuade me from taking action. It seems an almighty hurdle, the one I cannot leap. Even while knowing I have full power to do it. And yet I am so timid, weak.

When I had no more fight left in me then I started listening to people with long term sobriety and did what they did because they claimed it was what kept them sober. I have been sober long enough to know they were right.

The fear of confronting what I was running away from kept me drinking.
That nearly killed me.

My choice was face my demons or die...
I chose to face my demons.

I found the fear of facing them was much much worse than the reality of facing them.

Thanks Dee, MI. I just started another thread, as this one had died. And it was written at a very weak time. Now I'm just exhausted, shaking, and about to cry.
