I am going into MATSNin albuquerque

So, after being a person who drinks a 12 pack a night, I get it, I need help. I am going into a drug alcohol rehab for a week. I have never done this before, I am scared.

1) i hear it is similar to a jail facility, which I was comfortable with.
2) I MAY starrt to drink again once to rehab deal is over.

Ok, I am not making sense please someone out there help me feel comfortable going to this detox center of 7 days is ok.

I've never been in rehab but I think it's a good move, even for a week...take all the assistance they have to offer...forget about thinking about drinking again after yo get out - thats just your addiction bargaining with BS...

you have no idea how you'll feel when you get out - don;t sweat it - take it a day a time :)

Best of luck. It will be ok. I've been to one rehab and it was fine. I'm in a different country to you and obviously all rehabs are different but I am sure you'll be fine. It will hopefully be just what you need.

Great you'll detox. If you want to make the experience have some value then pump the sober people you meet there for their experience on how they didn't drink again after their last detox. If more than one person tells you the same thing give it double weight.

Then consider doing that yourself if you want to make this the last time you come off the booze.

You can do this!! One day at a time...

I was never in a treatment facility but, to be honest, I think I would try to look at it as more of a vacation from your present lifestyle ..... rather than some negative experience. You're just going there to learn how not to drink when you get out so try to learn all you can.

All the best. Hope the foods good :)

Nevar, I wish you the best of luck from one "Albuquerqueian" to another! I can imagine it is intimidating, but just go into it with a positive attitude. I am slowly starting to learn what a huge impact attitude has on everything.

I used to practically live at MATS in 2007. It's really not bad. The food is good. They take care of you there.

Some good AA in Albuquerque. If all else fails you can always go back to AA providing you have a pulse.

I should add that MATS is not a "rehab" it is simply a supervised detox facility. They will assist in getting you into a program, but you have to be aggressive with the staff.
