Anyone get absolutely NO withdrawal symptoms?

I had been an every day drinker for 2yrs, for the last six months of that averaging 2 or more litres of vodka daily.

I noticed no changes stopping cold turkey, except for boredom from free sober time and mild insomnia as I no longer passed out from booze and had to actually fall asleep.

Was I lucky?

Sorry this is in wrong forum, im not new to recovery. was just wondering how others fared.

Sometimes I had detoxes like that sure...

then I'd use them as proof I wasn't as bad as I thought and go back to drinking...more often than not I had a normal 'kill me now' detox next time....

Chalk it up as a lucky break theend22

I myself had NUMEROUS times throughout the years when I thought I "should" have withdrawal, and didnt. Then I drank again, and wound up in the hospital three times.
Be careful, and listen to Dee's wise advice.

Best of luck...be strong

Consider it a spiritual experience, and hold onto it.

I've never felt an obvious withdrawal symptom in my life, but I've never been an every day user of anything either. I suspect more people are prone to becoming addicted than others.

I used to think the symptoms were worse decades ago. Now in my 40s, my withdrawals are pretty mild, only some antsy feelings and a headache around day 3.

When I quit I had no symptoms at all. A little trouble getting to sleep at first since my normal method was to drink til I passed out, but that was it.

I also had a mild detox.

The good news, I never have to go through another one again.

Consider yourself fortunate and don't use it as false evidence that you didn't have a problem.

I didn't, but probably only because I had already cut down from daily drinking. My ex-boyfriend on the other hand, suffered a seizure and ended up in the hospital. Consider yourself very very lucky.

I was never a daily drinker myself. I would drink once every few months but when I do I would go on for days on need. Getting really trash and having a bad hangovers aka, can't sleep, shakes, sweet, throw up and anxiety. It's the price the pay when you place the binge game. :-/

I just had a regular hangover the first day. That and maybe the leg sweats while sleeping.

I dont consider it evidence of no problem. I consider it evidence that my dependence was not physical addiction, but rather mental addiction.

Ive been through actual withdrawal before quitting SSRIs cold turkey....Now that was absolute hell.

Though ever since I quit, I am addicted to caffeine and coffee. Im fine with that addiction lol.
