This subject comes up quite a lot on the forum and the answer is normally the same. It is advisable to get a sponsor that you can talk too face to face but obviously sometimes this isn't possible. There are people on this site who will sponsor people by means of skype or on social networking sites. I'm sure someone will pop in here at some point and maybe offer sponsorship. I'm not going too purely because I am only on Step 3. I take them slow lol. Failing that have a look in AA chat meetings like Dee suggested. Hope you find a sponsor.

I agree with what's been said already. Check out some online AA meetings, I think that would be very helpful. Also, I've known a couple people around here to agree to be an online sponsor.

I too highly recommend a sponsor you can talk to face to face. Even if you can't regularly see them, make a point of it to try and get together for lunch or something once a month or so.
