Ketamine User, trying to stop?

This is really new to me, I've been using ketamine for a couple of years and I've been using it enough to the point where it has started to destroy my body. My bladder, my stomach, my back. I feel like I don't deserve any sympathy which I don't, I would just like to talk to anyone who has been through similar situations who could maybe offer any kind of advice or words....I'm not sure...I just want to relate to someone who may have gone through or who are going through the same addiction as me. I'm trying to come into recovery, but it's hard.

Hi missbonjovi

I've never done ketamine but I expect you'll hear from those with experience soon.

about 12 years back I was doing K almost daily in fairly high doses on almost a daily basis for a year or so. So, I have some insight into how you might be feeling. For me, my entire reality became kind of warped and while doing bumps I'd be living in some kind of dream land and it was great. It was hard not to do it because it was a total escape from reality for a while into a reality that was just more interesting and weird.

I'd say it wasn't extremely difficult to stop, it just took me a while, because pretty much my entire lifestyle was built around taking it. The important thing is just to fully examine everything in your life and make changes to what you do. For me it meant ditching some friends for a while and not going to the same kinds of parties and festivals or whatever that led me to doing those things.

Ketamine isn't physically addictive so you really have to just focus your mind on not doing it. Find some hobbies or projects you can work on that won't involve K. Doing K is almost more like an obsession than an addiction from my experience. If you just convince yourself to stop, you can. Just don't give up.
