Numbes senses, finally heightened.
Hey guys! And gals. So this may sound really stupid, but I have always been a music fan. Not gonna say I appreciated a particular genre over another. But I have been pluggin into pandora when I need a dose of "quiet time". Ie, drowning out the bickering kids . Anyways, I'm so excited to report that I am feeling such a weird connection to the music. Like my senses are returning. I just wanna get up and dance around!! And I'm talking like stones and American pie music. God I sound like a quack! But I just wanted to share with the newbies that sobriety in no way has to be somber! It's pretty cool to listen to music and not look for an intense escape! Does that make sense?
Early in sobriety I really started to love opera which I could not bear to listen to when drinking, it would just irritate me. That phase seems to have passed and I am developing a deep interest in my grandkids nursery songs.

I don't think you sound like a quack, I find myself belting out the words to every song that comes on. I am embarrassed to admit that thanks to my girls I k ow the words to every song on Taylor Swift's Red, but they know lots of Billy Joel, Tom Petty, Depeche Mode and lots of others so I figure it is a fair trade!
