Liver Pain

For some time, I've felt mild discomfort on the right side of my abdomen right under the rib cage. I've done some searching on the web and I see "enlarged liver" as having this symptom. This scares me to no end.

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone else who's experienced this pain.

Don't be a google doctor! Go to a real one. It could be any one of a number of things.

Hi WhoDay! Why not see your Doctor for a check up and find out what exactly is going on? I found web searches only scared me. It's best to get a professional opinion and a proper diagnosis.

Are you drinking WhoDay?

Best Wishes To You!

I had this pain and a blood test said my liver was fine. Go to your doctor. The only good thing I ever got from googling symptoms was finding this place.

I've had alcoholic hepatitis, with added ascites, edema and malnutition. Not fun! I'm over a year sober and here is my recent ultrasound report

I've got a pain there now you've mentioned it....a bit like the itchy head when somebody mentions headlice.

On a serious note though,

Go and see your doctor and stay sober.

Bruno.

Day 4 of sobriety.

Just so it's clear, I understand the pitfalls of doing self-diagnose/treatment via the internet. Nor am I wanting to copy the treatment plan of someone with similar abdominal pain. I was just wondering if others had experienced the same type of pain since it can be caused by excessive alcohol consumption.

hypochondriac ... thanks. My blood tests have been fine, so maybe it's nothing.

Zee ... congratulations on the healthy report. Scared straight is right.

Whodey - I tried to be doctor via internet and caused a bunch of problems - gastritis, acid reflux, esophagitus due to anxiety and panic attacks.

Went to Doctor - thought my liver was destroyed, they say no. Yeah! Been soberover 100 days.

Wound up having to have an upper GI and Colonoscopy-Polyp removal, all that kind of crap plus the above stuff - But nothing too serious.

Go to Doctor and stay Sober!

Thanks everyone. If not sooner, I have a physical scheduled for March.

I'm not stressed about what I've found on the internet, but if what I'm feeling is related to excessive alcohol consumption, then I'd like to know. Looking for every reason to continue fighting the good fight.

I am the worst when it comes to googling symptoms, definitely see a doctor, you can almost convince yourself you have anything with a darn google search.

Definitely make an appointment to see your doctor.
