My brain must be broken

Happy New Year SR.

Hope everyone made it through safe and sound, and can remember what you did last night, lol.

It seems to me that after not drinking for a few months and experiencing progress in all areas of my life, that I would shudder at the thought of popping a few tops and tossing back some cold ones. Nope. My brother, his wife and I went to a casino last night for the celebration and I was surprised to discover just how strong the urge to drink was when we went by the bar area. The music seemed to pull at me, and the ambiance, atmosphere seemed inviting at first. I thought, "hey, I'm not driving, so here's a chance to really tie one on and bring in the new year with style". Geezzzzzzz.

Isn't that just nuts? I mean, here I am feeling good, have calmed my life down and am enjoying living a good, decent, wholesome life, then wham, the ole brain cells start thinking a drink would make life better, after all the hell those brain cells have gotten me into with the same thinking. My conclusion, my brain must be broken.

Well, I feel good being sober this morning and can remember all the ladies I kissed at the witching hour, and I didn't slobber on them at all this year.

Happy New Year SR. Thank you for the support over all these years.

Sometimes I reckon my brain to a dam with a few leaks in it... at least while sober they're just leaks and not rushing streams!

Good to see you posting FS!!!

Slowly as time goes on, instead of an 'urge' what you experienced will just
be a 'fleeting thought.'

I am so glad that you were 'aware' and chose to 'ignore' the temptation!!!

Love and hugs,
