...And Then I Prayed
...And Then I Prayed
I chose to not drink last night. With the help of Dee, I was reminded to use Urge Surfing to help me in my "witching hours" last night.
I made a cup of Tazo tea and let the urge wash over me. I stayed awake long enough to watch LSU lose, and went to bed with a clear mind.
I'm not a religious man, but I prayed silently. I wanted to thank God for simply giving me the opportunity to make this choice.
I wish you all well.

Great post....You don't have to be religious to pray...Just willing to believe something out there can help you. When it does...You gain faith. I am was at a meeting last night..Small one...There were 5 guys there with over 150 years sobriety combined...I love to listen to them. One was talking about how if you were homeless and starving...And you saw a 10 dollar bill on the ground....You'd reach down to pick it up and get something to eat. It's like that with God's Grace...Whatever your God is....It's there...Just so many people won't reach down to pick it up. Sounds like you gained a little faith last night....I gain some every day I don't obsess about drinking....What a miracle that is. Have a great year fdm...And keep praying.....I haven't met anybody yet that relapsed for praying too much.
