So Glad to Have Some Momentum Going Into the New Year
So many years I vowed sobriety would start on 01 Jan...I would typically last 20 days and then fall back into a pattern of 750mil Vodka per day. I kidded myself that if I only bought it in small airplane bottles (50ml) that I did not have a problem...can't tell you how many empties I have found around the house since starting sobriety more than 4 months ago. VERY VERY VERY tempted today as I shopped for New Years goodies and sitting home alone to avoid my former "friends"....so glad to have some sobriety behind me going into this. One day at a time...hoping 2013 will be a totally sober one.
Happy New Year, everyone!
I had work tonight, up until an hour before midnight, so there was very little temptation for me. During my lunch break I was organizing my looong list of resolutions when I thought to myself how nice it was to be going into 2013 without having to write down "quit drinking/smoking/whatever substance" because I've already done it! In fact, I've been so caught up in preparing for this fresh start that these 12 days have come and gone pretty easily.
I hope everyone has a wonderful, prosperous, successful 2013. It can only get better!
